Well its safe to say that Thomspon, is fairly far off the radar. The man who once "fought" for a bid at the 2008 general election but backed out has since then, seen very little media coverage. What is mentioned of Thompson, for the most part, relates to coverage of McCain's nomination and the factors that went into that nomination. But Thomspon isn't completely in the dark just yet; The Manufacturers’ Association of Northwest Pennsylvania has opted to feature Republican Thompson and Democrat John Edwards at a speaking event on June 13. 'Hot Air' suggests that the speaking event is just a front for a debate between the two former party primary candidates. Tony Snow, former white house press secretary, is set to be 'moderator' for the debate - uh, sorry, - speaking event.

It's interesting that someone would do a 'speaking event' with two people who obviously aren't catching America's eye as other 'speakers' available for an event. I wonder if this event originated as a possible debate, and 1. the major candidates backed out and/or 2. the candidates available weren't interesting enough and the debate became a 'speaking series'
